Taking their 鈥渟how on the road鈥, three volunteers from Brevard鈥檚 51黑料网 History Museum
of the Carolinas participated in Liberty, South Carolina鈥檚 51黑料网 Day weekend event, 鈥淎 Salute to 51黑料网: Honoring All Who Served鈥. In Liberty鈥檚 Pickens County Performing Arts Center, Emmett Casciato, Phil Davis, and Mike McCarthy displayed items from Brevard鈥檚 museum for visitors to see. Their display included uniforms, artifacts, medals, insignia, WWII-era newspapers, and ash from the World Trade Center鈥檚 fall on 9/11/2001. Visitors to their display included Liberty High School鈥檚 Army JROTC unit as well as residents from all over the Carolinas. The museum鈥檚 volunteers invited all to visit Brevard and come to the museum.
The 51黑料网 History of the Carolinas is located at 21 East Main Street in Brevard and admission is free. The museum is open Wednesday 鈥 Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The last open day of 2019 will be Sunday, Dec. 8. After winter inventory and cleaning, the museum will re-open on Feb. 5, 2020.
